Dr. Carolyn Bond
As a UK-based medical doctor and certified ReCODE Practitioner with more than 18 years of professional experience, I understand the importance of offering personalised care to my patients.
My medical career began with specialised surgical training and has since expanded to include family medicine, enabling me to diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of health concerns. When not practising clinically, I hold the position of university clinical lecturer, with the responsibility of educating and guiding future doctors, preparing them for clinical practice to international standards. Throughout these years of clinical practice, the number of patients with cognitive related symptoms, including memory loss, mood changes, communication difficulties and confusion has certainly increased.
I trained with the Institute of Functional Medicine, and more recently alongside US based neurologist and scientist, Dr Dale Bredesen and his team. My interest in the work of Dr Bredesen, furthered my journey towards practicing his pioneering approach, focussing on the prevention and reversal of the cognitive decline occurring in dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. This focus has driven me to seek ways in my own medical practice to prevent cognitive decline and, when feasible, reverse it.
To truly thrive, it’s essential to maintain both physical and mental wellbeing. Equipping ourselves with strategies to optimise brain health and sharpen cognitive function is vital at every stage of life, and it’s never too early to begin prioritising this. Throughout my career, I have witnessed first-hand the profound impact of a compassionate, multifaceted approach to patient care. While my foundation is rooted in conventional medicine, I have increasingly recognised the value of integrating holistic practices to support and enhance treatment outcomes. By combining evidence-based medicine with holistic strategies, I strive to address the whole person; mind, body, and environment, rather than solely focusing on symptoms of disease.
Recognising that health is a dynamic state allows us to better understand and address a wide range of physiological challenges. This perspective, therefore, not only helps to uncover the underlying factors contributing to disease but also empowers individuals to take an active role in their wellbeing.
Whether you are seeking preventive guidance, improvement in cognition and memory, or support on your journey to optimal health, my practice is dedicated to delivering personalised, integrative care that meets you where you are. Together, we can work towards achieving lasting brain health and vitality.
Who is it for?
Ideal for those who feel ready to embark on a transformational journey to optimise their cognitive health.
What's involved?
Following the complementary discovery call your suitability for the 6 month programme will be assessed. If you wish to proceed and we feel that you may indeed benefit from our specialist guidance we will begin the onboarding process.
The initial 90 minute doctor-led consultation is designed for people at the start of their cognitive journey. Together, we will explore all aspects of your life, physical, social, emotional and psychological to create a health timeline. This includes a comprehensive summary of your consultation, and one follow-up email if you have any additional questions within eight weeks of your initial consultation. Our clinic arranges the necessary investigations to evaluate your cognitive health thoroughly, this will be arranged in the weeks during the primary and progress consultations. Follow up consultations are up to 60 minutes and will provide an opportunity to review your progress, discuss my analysis of blood results and agree on the next steps.
You will be guided and supported fully throughout the 6 month period and beyond, should this be required.
Together with Nicole MacKintosh, our Cognitive Health Coach, we will develop a tailored management plan aimed at optimizing brain function and enhancing your overall wellbeing.
